EDUCATION AND LIFE-LONG LEARNING
Cité Descartes higher education institutions offer initial education and life long learning and training courses.
Life-long learning concerns people already working who wish to continue to improve their skills, adapt to new technologies, but who are also eager to retrain professionally.
Since January 1st 2020, Université Gustave Eiffel (UGE), has brought together six education and research entities, recognised in the fields of Sustainable City: a university (UPEM), a research institute (Ifsttar), an architects’ school (Éav&t) and three engineering schools (EIVP, ENSG and ESIEE Paris). UGE is the leading institution in France in terms of apprenticeship education. In a context of constant change in cities and territories, they are combining their skills and know-how to create a one-of-a-kind university of international standing.
École des Ponts ParisTech, created in 1747, offers high level education and develops leading research in the fields of civil engineering, environment and transport, economy and finance, mechanics and material sciences, cities and sustainable development.
CFA Descartes is a key player in the development of apprenticeships in higher education, with 2,700 apprentices trained each year, together with Gustave Eiffel University, France’s leading university for professional training. A few figures: 30 years, 100 training courses from BAC+2 to BAC+5, 16 fields, 1,800 loyal companies.
Ingénieurs 2000 was created by companies to meet their needs for “field” engineers and technicians, exclusively in apprenticeships. Ingénieurs 2000 is closely involved in the design of new training courses according to the needs expressed and supported by companies.
Les Compagnons du Devoir et du Tour du France offers professional apprenticeship that alternates theoretical education and practical training in a travel company, courtesy of Tour de France. The association offers initial education and life long-learning courses, from the CAP to the professional licence.
d.school Paris from École des Ponts ParisTech trains and supports innovation leaders through the learning and practice of user-centred design. It promotes the practice of Design Thinking as an approach to innovation and its management.
DigitalU, the Great Digital School of Paris-Vallée de la Marne, offers a training programme for people with a marked appetite for digital technology, without necessarily possessing the required qualifications. This programme enables them to enter directly into the professional world or to continue their academix pursuits.
ESO Paris Suposteo Osteopathy School is the historical and reference osteopathic school in France. Approved by the Ministry of Health, it offers a 5-year course of excellence in the field.
The Training Institute for Animal Osteopathy relies on high-level professional practitioners to train its students to deliver in their chosen disciplines: animal or human osteopaths, veterinary osteopaths, animal dentists, farriers, etc.
